Pressure Vessel, Heat Exchanger & Tank Design

We use Codeware Compress software and our own flexible Excel calculation spreadsheets to design pressure vessels and heat exchangers per ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1 & Div. 2, CSA B51, TEMA, and client specifications. Construction drawings are drafted to scale in AutoCAD.

Our standard process: complete the design package (calculations + drawings), submit to client for approval, then submit to ABSA or the relevant provincial safety authority for CRN registration.

We also provide re-rate, repair, and alteration design for existing pressure vessels and heat exchangers.

Tank Design & Repair

Above-ground welded storage tank design per API 650, API 620, API 12F, ULC S601/S602, and underground tanks per ULC S603. Tank site repair and alteration per API 653 — including bottom, shell, roof, and nozzle work.

Skid Package Design & Drafting

We custom-design modular skid packages for oil & gas production, process facilities, and water treatment systems. Deliverables include 3D models, P&IDs, equipment specs, GA layouts, piping, and skid design — produced in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Fitting Design & Drafting

Category A, B, E, and H fittings — design calculation and scaled drafting using our flexible Excel spreadsheets and AutoCAD, per ASME Sec. I, Sec. IV, Sec. VIII Div. 1 & Div. 2, B31.1, B31.3, B31.11, and CSA B51.

We provide fitting design services for CRN registration with ABSA or the safety authorities of other provinces.

Pressure Piping Engineering Design

Pressure piping engineering design per ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, and CSA Z662 — wall thickness calculation, nozzle reinforcement, flange pressure-temperature rating, hydrotest pressure, stress verification, impact test verification, PWHT check, material selection diagrams, piping isometrics, line classes, line designation tables, P&ID specialty items, WPS, and NDE matrix.

Our designers are skilled in drafting isometric cut sheet drawings with AcornPipe software for shop fabrication.

Piping Stress Analysis

We provide piping stress analysis services backed by a wide range of project experience. Detailed analysis is performed using CAESAR II, AutoPipe, and NozzlePro to ensure piping systems meet ASME and CSA code requirements and client specifications.

FEA & Nozzle / Clip Local Stress Analysis

Finite Element Analysis for pressure vessel, fitting, and tank designs not covered by the general rules in ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1 & Div. 2, B31.1, B31.3, and API 650.

We build 3D models and apply various load cases in ANSYS for stress assessment per ASME evaluation criteria. We also perform nozzle and clip local stress analysis to overcome the limitations of WRC-107 and WRC-297 — verifying whether pressure-retaining components can withstand external loads safely and cost-effectively.

ASME Certificate Application or Renewal

We design Demonstration Vessels and Pipe Spools per the latest edition of ASME Sec. I, Sec. VIII Div. 1 & Div. 2, B31.1, and B31.3 for certification application or renewal audits — acquiring ASME "U", "PP", "A", "S" stamps and National Board "NB", "R" stamps.

Design packages include Compress software calculations, Excel longhand verification, scaled AutoCAD construction drawings, heat number drawings, NDE maps, and weld maps.

We also provide Certificate of Authorization Permit application or renewal design with ABSA or other provincial authorities.
